Junior Performers

We are excited to invite students who enjoy dance, and are ready to step up to the commitment of additional challenges, opportunities and performances to join Junior Performers. Annually, we continue building our group of young dancers who desire to improve their performing skills and train in a more professional environment.

Dance is a unique art form that involves one's total being. It is a very rewarding experience when our youth begin to show a special interest and potential in the many ways dance can expand their abilities and help them discover new possibilities.

Candidates for Junior Performers:

• Students ages 9 to 12 years

• Must be enrolled as a student at the Diane Matthews School of Dance Arts in ballet or jazz at an Elementary 3- intermediate level or higher

• Express an interest to your teacher or to the JP director

• Invitations are extended annually in the spring

Dance students who are interested in consideration for the Junior Performers are encouraged to schedule classes that will help them reach the criteria to qualify.
